ABOUT DR ADNAN NADIR

Dr Adnan Nadir is a highly experienced Consultant Cardiologist who combines world-class expertise with a warm, patient-centred approach to care. He is currently based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, one of the UK’s leading heart centres, and also holds an honorary position as Associate Professor of Cardiology at the University of Birmingham.

Dr Nadir is recognised internationally for his expertise in minimally invasive heart valve treatments, including TAVI and MitraClip, offering advanced alternatives to open-heart surgery for suitable patients. He is a Fellow of both the American College of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiology, reflecting the highest standards of clinical practice.

Having completed his medical and cardiology training in the West Midlands and North West England, Dr Nadir was awarded a prestigious British Heart Foundation Fellowship, during which he helped develop innovative methods for detecting heart disease at an early stage. His research has been published in leading international medical journals and has directly influenced modern cardiac care.

He went on to undertake advanced specialist training at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, consistently ranked among the top heart hospitals in the United States, where he gained extensive experience in the latest minimally invasive heart procedures.

Since returning to the UK, Dr Nadir has led the transcatheter heart valve programme at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, providing cutting-edge, non-surgical treatments that have transformed outcomes for many patients who were previously considered high-risk for surgery. He also serves as Clinical Lead for Cardiology across Birmingham and Solihull, helping to shape heart services for the region.

Dr Nadir offers comprehensive assessment and treatment for chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, dizziness, heart valve disease, angina, and heart failure. He has a particular interest in preventative cardiology and in optimising heart health before major surgery.
