BOOK A CONSULTATION
INTRODUCTION
Dr Shui Hao Chin is a Cambridge-educated Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist with international fellowship training in advanced arrhythmia care. He specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders, including atrial fibrillation, supraventricular and ventricular tachycardias, and bradycardia. His procedural expertise includes catheter ablation, pacemaker and defibrillator implantation, and the use of 3D mapping and advanced cardiac imaging to guide complex ablations.
After studying medicine at the University of Cambridge, Dr Chin completed specialist cardiology training in the West Midlands and was awarded a PhD in Cardiovascular Sciences from the University of Leicester through a prestigious British Heart Foundation Clinical Research Fellowship. He then undertook high-volume international fellowships at the Ottawa Heart Institute and the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, where he was later appointed as a Consultant before returning to Leicester.
Dr Chin currently leads the Ventricular Tachycardia Ablation Programme at Glenfield Hospital and is one of the first UK electrophysiologists to incorporate pulsed-field ablation (PFA) into routine clinical care. He is known for delivering precision-based, individualised treatment strategies, combining cutting-edge technology with a calm, evidence-based approach tailored to each patient.
In parallel with clinical work, Dr Chin is committed to education and research. He serves as Chair of the Scientific Committee for the UK Heart Rhythm Congress and is a regular peer reviewer for leading electrophysiology journals. He holds an Honorary Senior Lecturer position at the University of Leicester and presents frequently at national and international meetings.
Dr Chin sees private patients at Harley Street, London and Glenfield Hospital, Leicester, with flexible options for remote consultations.
