Dr. Teresa Castiello is a passionate and multi-faceted clinician with nearly 25 years of international experience spanning Italy, the UK, and Developing Countries. Her dedication to excellence and innovation in cardiovascular care has earned her significant global recognition, including the Cardiologist of the Year 2024 – UK and prestigious global awards for her work in Advancing Health with Technology and Global Impact in Healthcare.

As an NHS Consultant Cardiologist and Founder and Director of MIAL Healthcare, Dr. Castiello is dedicated to prevention, early diagnosis, and the holistic management of cardiovascular diseases, always prioritizing the person before the pathology.

Her clinical specialties include: Heart Failure, Acquired and Inherited Cardiomyopathies). Cardiac Magnetic Resonance(CMR) ) imaging (internationally certified, Level 3ESC/SCMR). Cardiovascular Prevention, including family screening and Sudden Cardiac Death prevention.

MIAL Healthcare is Dr. Castiello’s healthcare social business venture and the first Italian-speaking hospital-based service in London. MIALs mission is to deliver specialized, personalized, and multidisciplinary care pathways both in-person and remotely. By integrating digital health innovation into clinical practice, MIAL aims to break down geographic and structural barriers, ensuring that high-quality, empathetic, and holistic care is accessible to all.

A recognized leader in her field, Dr. Castiello is highly active in international cardiology Societies. She an Executive Board Member of the European Nucleus of Cardiomyopathy of the European Society of Cardiology ( ESC) a representative on the Genomic Council of the ESC , a member of the Inflammatory Cardiomyopathy Commitee of the European Heart Failure Association and the immediate past President of the Royal Society of Medicine (Cardiology Section)—the first woman to hold that role.

She is a prominent Digital Health Expert, a former member of the Patient Care and Digital Health Committee of the European Heart Failure Association (HFA of ESC), and remains actively engaged in numerous digital health projects for both clinical and research purposes.
