About The Founder
Dr Francesco Lo Monaco is an internationally recognised Consultant Cardiologist and a three-time recipient of the European Award in Medicine. He completed his medical training at the University of Pavia School of Medicine, Italy, before undertaking advanced fellowships at Harvard Medical School and New York Medical College.
This transatlantic formation gave him something relatively rare in cardiology: deep fluency in both European preventive medicine traditions and the evidence-based protocols driving American cardiovascular research.
Dr. Lo Monaco’s clinical expertise spans all areas of cardiology, with a particular focus on preventive Cardiology and advanced cardiac imaging. He sees patients at The National Heart Clinic, Harley Street, as well as provides online consultations.

Journey from Milan to Harley Street
From Milan to New York and ultimately to London’s Harley Street, Dr Lo Monaco’s years of international training and experience gave his philosophy of patient care a new direction. Throughout his journey, one belief remained consistent: ‘the best heart care doesn’t begin with treating disease; it begins with preventing it.’
Meeting his wife, Audrey Elena, a nutritionist, further broadened his perspective on the vital role of lifestyle, nutrition, and prevention in long-term heart health. Their experiences shaped a powerful philosophy – caring for the whole person leads to better outcomes than treating a diagnosis alone. That philosophy became the foundation of The National Heart Clinic. Combining advanced cardiology with preventive medicine, lifestyle guidance, and nutrition, the clinic’s aim is to help patients protect their cardiovascular health.
