Remote Diagnostics: Connected Cardiac
Care From Home

From continuous blood pressure monitoring to home ECGs, Holter Monitors, and private blood tests, we deliver trusted remote diagnostics to your door, wherever you are in the UK. Every result is reviewed by our specialists. The same clinical standards apply whether you’re tested at home or on Harley Street.

Remote ECG Monitoring

Where clinically appropriate, ECG monitoring can be arranged remotely to record information about your heart’s electrical activity. Our team will explain the booking process and provide complete instructions. Once the test is done, the results are reviewed by one of our specialists, with follow-up advice where necessary.

Holter Monitors

With the flexibility of remote ECG monitoring with a Holter Monitor, you can complete your assessment (from 24 hours to up to 14 days) at home and get specialist review and interpretation for better understanding of your results.

Ambulatory BP Monitoring

An Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor (ABPM) records your blood pressure at regular intervals over 24 hours while you go about your normal daily activities and sleep. It provides a more detailed picture of how your blood pressure changes throughout the day and helps detect the hidden patterns that may be missed in a single clinical setting.

Home Blood Tests

Where required, a qualified healthcare professional may be arranged to collect your blood sample at home. This can provide a convenient option for patients who are unable to travel easily or prefer home-based testing. If home blood collection is not suitable or available in your area, testing may alternatively be arranged through one of our partner clinics near you.

Your Home Cardiac Diagnostic
Journey, In 5 Simple Steps

Book an Appointment Online

Book your consultation with one of our cardiac specialists to discuss your symptoms and medical & family history. Your cardiologist will decide whether you should opt for remote diagnostics or clinical visit is necessary.

We Arrange Everything

Our team confirms the right test for you and arranges delivery of a monitoring device or a home visit from a trained professional for blood tests, if needed. You’ll get clear instructions by our team before your test.

Monitor From Home

Wear or use your cardiac device as instructed, from the comfort of home – no clinic visits needed. Complete the monitoring period as required, and note down any specific symptoms you experience during this time.

Return the Device

Once the monitoring period completes, return the device using the arranged method. Where required, blood samples can be processed through our partner clinic.

Get Specialist Review

One of our consultant cardiologists reviews your results and provides a clear clinical report, explaining the findings and any recommended next steps.

Please Note: Remote cardiac monitoring is not an emergency response service. If you have severe chest pain or unusual cardiac symptoms, follow the emergency instructions rather than waiting for remote heart monitoring.

Who Can Benefit From Home Cardiac Diagnostics?

Home cardiac monitoring is usually considered when a patient’s symptoms or clinical data don’t match and require further investigation. Depending on the investigation required, this remote diagnostic service may be suitable for:

  • Patients with intermittent cardiac symptoms, such as palpitations, dizziness or episodes of an irregular heartbeat, particularly when symptoms may not occur during a brief clinical assessment.
  • Patients who require 24-hour BP monitoring to evaluate hidden blood pressure patterns and unusual spikes throughout normal daytime activities and during sleep.
  • Patients undergoing ongoing cardiac follow-up, including monitoring after a diagnosis, cardiac procedure or adjustment to medication.
  • Patients for whom regular clinic visits are difficult, including patients, those with travel issues and tough schedules.

FAQs

Remote cardiac monitoring is a home testing service that allows patients to monitor certain aspects of their heart health outside a traditional clinical setting. Depending on your clinical requirements, it may involve home ECG monitoring, ABPM, Holter Monitors, and home blood tests.

Remote monitoring in cardiology refers to the home diagnostic service that provides patients the option to monitor their heart health at home using reliable monitoring devices. The collected heart health data is analysed and reviewed by a specialist cardiologist as part of your clinical assessment.

One of the crucial factors in ensuring the accuracy of home cardiac monitoring test results is following your cardiology team’s instructions. Incorrect placement of the device, your body posture while performing an ECG, and daily activities can play a major role in deciding how accurate the results are.

Remote cardiovascular monitoring can be particularly valuable when symptoms occur intermittently or when information needs to be collected over a longer period than a standard clinic appointment allows. Whether remote monitoring is appropriate for you will depend on the clinical question being investigated.

Telehealth generally refers to healthcare consultations provided remotely, such as video or telephone appointments. Remote health monitoring, on the other hand, involves collecting health information using diagnostic or monitoring devices from your home.

The National Heart Clinic offers selected remote cardiac diagnostic services across the UK. Depending on the investigation required, diagnostic equipment or home testing services may be arranged to support your assessment outside a conventional clinic setting. You can contact our team to discuss your symptoms and requirements and determine the most appropriate diagnostic option.
