DR. KALPA DE SILVA

Dr De Silva’s clinical focus and expertise is on treating and managing coronary artery disease, specifically by undertaking complex percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), including multi-vessel, left main and chronic total occlusion revascularization. He also has an interest in research education, and technology development, in relation to refining and improving quality and procedural efficiency in PCI practice. He remains dedicated to adopting and utilising new technology to improve procedural safety and patient outcomes.

He read medicine at St Bartholomew’s & The Royal London School of Medicine. He then completed a PhD in cardiovascular medicine, awarded by King’s College, University of London, with a specialist interest in the use of coronary physiology in guiding the management of chest pain, angina and heart attacks, which was undertaken at St. Thomas’ Hospital, London. His training in general and interventional cardiology was at King’s College and St. Thomas’ Hospital’s, London. Additionally, he completed an international fellowship in complex coronary intervention at the Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney, Australia.
