
CONSULTANT CARDIOLOGIST
DR. KURMANI
Dr Kurmani is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist with more than 15 years of experience looking after patients with a range of heart conditions and a particular expertise in coronary artery disease, heart attacks and angina.
He studied medicine at the University of Cambridge and went on to train at the Imperial College Healthcare Trust in London and the University Hospitals of Leicester. He has been the recipient of both the NIHR Academic Clinic Fellowship and a British Heart Foundation-funded fellowship for which he was awarded a PhD for his work on the molecular mechanisms of heart disease. After completing his general and interventional cardiology training, Dr Kurmani was awarded the prestigious British Cardiovascular Intervention Society fellowship to further train in complex cardiac interventions at the Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide.
Dr Kurmani returned to the UK as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the Leeds General Infirmary and takes on a range of roles such as heading clinical governance, honorary senior lecturer at the University of Leeds and is the principal investigator for several clinical trials.
Dr Kurmani provides comprehensive, patient-centred assessment and management of cardiac symptoms. Additionally, he provides specialist, state of the art care for patients with angina and heart attacks as well as those who are concerned about their risk of heart disease.
